Gladiator frenzy. Warriors: Rise to Glory

Game about tactical battles in the arena. Taking into account the recent multiplayer update.

The game is announced for platforms: Windows, Mac OS.

The most minimal in the form of a small introductory text. Here history is written with the blood of generations of gladiators.

The gameplay consists of tactical gladiatorial battles in different modes.

It must be said right away that the game seems to consist of two parts, similar to each other, but also radically different.

If you run Warriors: Rise to Glory, then we will defeat you in multiplayer mode, focused on PVP, which was just delivered yesterday. Single player campaign – PVE, not connected to multiplayer.

At the beginning (in any of the modes) I recommend going through a short but extremely useful training. Here they will talk about the types of attacks, changing weapons, how spectators can influence the battle and other subtleties of the process.

The basis of the game is tactical battles. The rules by which they take place are approximately the same for both the single player campaign and multiplayer. In general, battles take place on narrow strips one cell thick, where fighters converge.

Each warrior has armor, health and energy. Armor is determined by the armor worn, health is determined by pumping up the corresponding stat, energy is also pumped up and can be spent on various strikes and movements in battle except for rest (rest restores energy and some health).

The battle is in the form of tactical resource management. Who is better equipped, whose crits hit, who can move a square further, who correctly upgraded the hero’s stats and perks – all this together determines the winner.

There is also an element of luck in battles in the form of misses and randomly generated items and traps on the battlefield.

There are important mechanics related to spectators. During the battle, each fighter attracts the attention of the crowd, which is assessed on a separate scale. As entertainment increases, warriors can use special skills, calling on NPC spectators for help – this can greatly influence the course of the battle and even turn it around.

At the beginning and during any battle, characters say all sorts of humorous phrases.

When one or another fighter is defeated, there are still options for further developments. The loser can offer the winner additional coins in order to stay alive and, I must say, this is often relevant, since good equipment is expensive.

For executions in the arena we get a special currency – souls, which will increase the stats of the new hero after the death of the old one.

Random can generate interesting, although few in number of types, video scenes with fatalities or survival – unusual, both are implemented with humor.

Fatality and even one mercy.

Let’s look at the game www.platinumplayonlinecasino.co.uk modes and their features.

Multiplayer. This is a more hardcore version of entertainment. Here we fight with other players and if there is no approximately equal opponent, we can load bots into the battle.

It is even possible to play in PVP a little more relaxed in the “Easy” mode. Here, even if we lose, we don’t lose the hero and calmly continue to overcome. The rewards in “Legkotna” are, as expected, the lowest.

Tensions arise in the “Tough” mode. The characters here die completely, with only part of the progress being transferred to the future new hero. The subtlety is that progress is about money and the most painful loss is the loss of equipment, which is not so easy to restore. But even for winning “Tin” there will be a decent amount of awards.

A “Tournament” is also planned, but the developers have not finished it yet.

In multiplayer there is the possibility of battles 1 on 1, 2 on 2, each for himself (I don’t know how many people are the maximum, judging by the screenshots – up to six) and a fight with the boss (it seems like in a co-op with friends you have to pick at an elite enemy, but I haven’t checked).

New daily quests are generated every day.

A strong difference between a multiplayer game and a single-player one is the presence in multiplayer of a house, which will permanently improve the parameters of all our descendants (for glory coins) and has absorbed the inheritance of stats from the single-player game. Each new hero will become stronger due to souls (special currency for executions in the arena) collected by their ancestors.

Multiplayer, unfortunately, has not escaped the scourge of our time – a paid battle pass. Analyzed its composition. You can play without investing money, albeit much slower, but the currency from the pass (spent on home decorations, in fact these are skins) is farmed in the game. Some sediment remains

Single player campaign. Here the player fights only in PVE, and his successes can be assessed by comparing them with the achievements of other people from the leaderboard. Besides, to fight and fight is the main goal here. There were a lot of people, just after entering I found myself in the 13,000th place. I suspect that each difficulty also has its own table.

It may seem that it is easier to play alone than in multiplayer. This is true and not true at the same time. In my opinion, the campaign was too clever with the balance. As long as we win, everything is fine. But if you lose and the hero dies, then an imbalance with equipment arises. For example, a level 6 character, dressed in expensive armor and with good weapons, dies. An old hero disappears, a new one arrives. Stats and perks (at least the number of points) are inherited completely, there is even a chance to develop the hero into a stronger one by experimenting with distributing leveling points. But the equipment is a problem. A maximum of one item can be inherited and gold for a couple more. At the same time, the enemies remain the same levels as the hero, but only dressed. This leads to extremely unpleasant losses immediately after deaths.

In single-player mode, executions in the arena also award souls, which will ultimately give more stats to descendants.

There are tournaments for solo play. As far as I understand, in a single-player game, at some point you must win a tournament in order to further gain experience. The competition is held according to the Olympic system, there is no mercy for the losers.

General points for multiplayer and single player campaign. There are the same activities and rules in both versions of the game:

— A shop where equipment is sold. In multiplayer the range is many times greater. The conditions for using some items differ from the mode. In a single game, the hero’s level and the presence of stats are required; in multiplayer, the factor of the level of leveling of the house interferes.

— In the character window (the essence is the same, although the names are different) we improve stats and passive skills. In different modes, leveling up is similar purely visually, but the perks are radically different.

— We put clothes on the hero.

— You can play dice in the tavern.

GALLOP THROUGH EUROPE

Armor protects the fighter’s health. But here’s what they did well in the game: protective equipment is destroyed and its fragments scatter beautifully throughout the arena.

At the end of the battle, all armor, even completely broken, becomes like new again, there is no need to look for money for a repairman.

Dice game takes place in a tavern. Purely luck decides, it all depends on how the dice fall. Each player has 10 life units and 15 dice. The goal is to make sure that at the end of the game the enemy has fewer lives left than us, and ideally to finish the match ahead of schedule, reducing the enemy’s “lives” to zero. There may be a draw if the final number of lives is equal. Each outcome has its own rewards. If the victory is ours, we multiply the coins with different coefficients (win by points or complete victory), if we lose, we lose. Draw – players stay with their.

The rules are simple. Rolls five dice at a time. A thrown die either returns to the hand and can be rerolled from there as many times as desired until the resultant side is rolled, damage can be caused to oneself, damage to an opponent, or protection to oneself. Defense is not counted as a health point when calculating results.

For multiplayer and single player bets are slightly different.

Let’s look at the pros and cons of the game and summarize.

+ Cute, nice graphics.

+ Excellent music and sound accompaniment.

+ There are actually two games in the game – multiplayer PVP and single player PVE campaign.

+ Not without imbalances, but overall good tactical battles.

+ Many types of weapons, armor and other equipment, more in multiplayer, less in single player campaign. There is melee and ranged combat.

+ There is a lot of humor in the constant remarks of the fighters.

+ Almost perfect Russian text localization. The person (or people) who did this clearly approached the matter with soul.

THINGS THAT CAN BE BOTH A PLUS AND A MINUS:

± In my opinion, depriving a descendant (single player) of equipment and then throwing it at level-equipped enemies is not balanced. In such battles, randomness decides too much. But I won’t insist, perhaps for some it will even add interest.

± Paid, but does not affect anything except skins for the battle pass in multiplayer. On the one hand, I’m indignant, on the other hand, the currency is for skinnies and is farmed using the game’s means. In general, it seems not good, but not fatally bad either.

— I caught a most unpleasant bug when I pumped up the stats of my descendants in a single-player campaign, but they didn’t improve at all in the description. Taking into account what happened in the following fights – apparently they remained at zero, pumping stats was not taken into account.

A good, original game about tactical gladiator battles. Somehow it reminded me of the Swords and Sandals series, only in a more serious implementation. I liked that depending on the mood you can either chop up bots in a single player campaign or plunge into multiplayer.

PS: I probably didn’t cover all the aspects, I might have missed something. I will be glad to add/correct the review or answer questions along the way in the comments.
